Foodborne illness can seriously harm your customers and your business. According to the National Restaurant Association (NRA), each incident of foodborne illness may cost you approximately $75,000! (click here for the NRA article) That is why it is so important to create a food safety management system that works. We have just the tool for you to do this: Active Managerial Control (AMC). It's free, easy to use and customizable! AMC takes the guess work out of creating a food safety management system that works. |
Develop your customized food safety system
Click here to download the interactive program
Once you download this tool, you'll answer simple questions about your operation and then you'll have a chance to customize the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and self-assessment checklists. After you answer these questions the program generates customized forms, logs and other resources that are designed specifically for your operation.
An effective food safety system includes:
- At least one Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) on staff
(click here for a link to our training resources page)
- A trained work force: All food workers have had food safety training (regulations will soon be in effect that will require all food workers to take and pass an exam in basic food safety knowledge)
- Written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- On-going monitoring, correction and verification to make sure the food safety system you developed is working.
You may also print off individual pages to fill information in manually, by using the "Resources" link within the program. If you would like a bound copy of the material contained within AMC please contact the ADEC office.
