“Mercury in Northern Pike from the Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge”
is now available as a poster (click here) and on our Fish Facts Consumption Guidelines webpage at
http://www.epi.hss.state.ak.us/eh/fish/.
The poster includes consumption recommendations for fresh and dried pike from the Yukon Delta NWR area.
More Mercury data has been added to our database. The attached spread sheet shows the latest results.

Update! (6/2008)
The organochlorine pollutant results are now available from samples collected during the first two years of the study. Alaska fish continue to warrant unlimited consumption.

With funding from EPA and NOAA, we continue to analyze salmon, halibut, pacific cod, sablefish, black rockfish, lingcod sheefish, and pollock for heavy metals (methyl mercury, lead, cadmium) and inorganics (PCB congeners, dioxins, furans, pesticides, inorganic arsenic, and chromium VI. Samples are collected primarily in marine waters throughout the state with some Northern pike from lakes in the Koyukuk , Kuskokwim , Yukon , and Susitina River drainages.
