The Program oversees producers and processors of milk and frozen desserts and inspects the

sanitation conditions and equipment at the state's dairy farms and milk processing plants.
The Program also issues permits to dairy farms, processing plants, and haulers.

Q: Can I sell raw milk?
A:

Only to a milk processing plant or for animal food. See 18 AAC 32.060

Q: Does all milk have to be pasteurized?
A: Milk used to make some cheeses is not required to be pasteurized. Please call the dairy sanitarian in the Wasilla office for additional information.
