Eleven wells were sampled in June with maximum concentrations of 175 ppb benzene (TH-17) 3,160 ppb GRO (TH-1), and 103,000 ppb DRO (TH-1). Other VOCs were below cleanup levels. Twelve wells were sampled in September with maximum concentrations of 1,540 ppb (TH-2), 38,900 ppb GRO (TH-2), and 15,300 ppb DRO (TH-2) (Saupes and Willners assessed together).Wiegers, Janice
05/22/2003Update or Other ActionRequested information about an injection wells from Sourdough Fuel. Dave Cieplik, facility manager, indicated that the only potential injection well he knew of was a drum cleaning pit at the back of the warehouse that had not been used since the mid-70s. He believed the pit was contained and did not drain to the ground, but is checking into this. Another potential drywell was reported by SECOR in on the northern portion of the property and is probably the former injection well associated wtih the recirculation gallery. Mr. Cieplik stated that Sourdough Fuel recently built a lined snow containment cell for their spill plan along the northern boundary of the property.Wiegers, Janice

12/28/2005Update or Other ActionReviewed the Second Semi-Annual 2005 Groundwater Monitoring Report. According to the report the new monitoring wells that were installed downgradient of the site (MW-7, MW-8, and MW-10) all contained groundwater contamination above ADEC cleanup levels. MW-9 had detections of contamination but not above ADEC cleanup levels. Free product was discovered in MW-25, TH-5, TH-2 and MW-2).Williams, Deborah
01/09/2008Update or Other ActionNew Chevron Project Manager for this site: Daniel L. Carrier DCarrier@chevron.com Cardona-Marek, Tamara
01/10/2008Update or Other ActionDEC received the Second Semi-Annual 2007 Groundwater Monitoring Report from ARCADIS BBL for the former Chevron bulk plant, former texaco bulk plant and former unocal bulk plant. DRO's in wells TH 2 and TH 17 seem to have doubled from the last time they were sampled. Wells TH 7 , TH 10 and MW 3 had no contaminants above the DEC cleanup level. ARCADIS recommends sampling wells TH 7, TH 17 and TH 18 on an annual basis instead of semi-annual. They also recommend eliminating PAH, EDB and volatiles analysis (will continue BTEX). Cardona-Marek, Tamara
01/11/2008Exposure Tracking Model RankingInitial ranking with ETM completed.Cardona-Marek, Tamara
01/31/2008Update or Other ActionDEC received the 2007 Site Assessment Report for the Former Chevron Bulk Plant, Former Texaco Bulk Plant, and Former Unocal Bulk Plant. Soil samples and vapor probe gas samples were collected at the site. Vapor probe gas samples exceeded screening levels for ethylbenzene, benzene and toluene at depths of 5 and 8.5 feet. One soil sample exceeded exceeded cleanup levels for DRO and benzene. ARCADIS proposes to conduct another vapor sampling event in 2008. Cardona-Marek, Tamara
02/01/2008Exposure Tracking Model RankingA new updated ranking with ETM has been completed.Cardona-Marek, Tamara
03/18/2008Update or Other ActionSent e-mail to ARR (Susan Schrader and Karen Morrissey) requesting a meeting to discuss IC's for the FAIR area. Cardona-Marek, Tamara

06/24/2008Update or Other ActionADEC received the Work Plan for Additional Site Assessment. Work Plan includes installation of 4 vapor probes to sample soil gas near buildings. ADEC recommends the addition of 4 vapor probes to the plan (2 per building) and the analysis of additional volatile petroleum components from the vapor samples collected. Cardona-Marek, Tamara
07/11/2008Leaking Underground Storage Tank Corrective Action UnderwayMet with Dan Carrier (Chevron) and Greg Montgomery (Arcadis) to discuss current activities at the site and plans to do additional assessment. ADEC recommended doing vapor probes on two sides of the buildings on site to assess the potential for vapor intrusion. Additional plume delineation to the west was discussed since the boundary of the plume has not been determinedCardona-Marek, Tamara
08/29/2008Update or Other ActionReceived and reviewed the First Semi-annual 2008 Groundwater Monitoring Report for Former Chevron, Texaco and Unocal bulk plants. Results are consistent with previous results. ARCADIS recommends eliminating PAH's analysis , EDB and VOC's. ADEC agrees but requires analysis for PCE/TCE. ADEC also agrees with wells TH-7, TH-17 and TH-18 to be sampled annually instead of semi-annually. Cardona-Marek, Tamara
08/29/2008Update or Other ActionARCADIS requests approval to transport waste soil resulting from installation of vapor probes. Transport approved although not necessary, all super-sack sample results were below cleanup levels. Cardona-Marek, Tamara
12/18/2008Update or Other ActionADEC received the Second Semi-annual 2008 Groundwater Monitoring Report for Former Chevron, Texaco and Unocal bulk plants. Results are consistent with previous monitoring events. Cardona-Marek, Tamara
03/13/2009Meeting or Teleconference HeldADEC discussed site with Arcadis and Chevron on 3/3/2009. ADEC requested that only one sampling event takes place this year and efforts are focused on developing graphs and plume maps that demonstrate contaminant reduction over time. MNA parameters should also be measured at the site during sampling events. Arcadis will do a Phase I assessment to determine if additional plume delineation to the west is needed. Cardona-Marek, Tamara
01/22/2010Report or Workplan Review - OtherDEC reviewed the Annual 2009 Groundwater Monitoring and MNA Report. Contaminant concentrations seem consistent with previous monitoring events. Wells TH17, TH18 and TH13 could not be sampled due to access issues that need to be resolved with ARRC. Wells MW-25 and TH-2 could not be sampled due to the presence of LNAPL. Cardona-Marek, Tamara
