diesel. Approximately 100 gallons of the fuel oil may have been
released after storms battered the grounded vessel on March 25 & 26,
2005. |
| Cause |
The
owner of the F/V Oban informed the U.S. Coast Guard that the electronic
navigation system had failed. |
| Time/Date
of Spill |
At
8:05 PM on March 23, 2005, the U.S. Coast Guard notified ADEC that
the F/V Oban had run aground on the southwest corner of Duke Island
at 6:22 PM on March 23, 2005. The F/V Oban is a 41’ wood
hull vessel. |
