Lake Lucille Quality Monitoring

Lake Lucille is an impaired waterbody for low dissolved oxygen and has an EPA approved Total Maximum Daily Load water quality plan that was completed in 2002.

Lake LucilleThrough the ACWA process, Lake Lucille, in the Mat-Su Borough, was identified as a high priority water. The DEC has conducted two field seasons of water quality data in 2004 and 2005 during open water periods. The water quality assessments conducted by DEC evaluated nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorous, & chlorophyll a), bacteria, petroleum hydrocarbons, and other basic field parameters such as pH, conductivity, temperature and dissolved oxygen.

The DEC continues to work with the community on Lake Lucille in order to achieve long-term water quality improvements. For information on the annual work requested on the lake, please see the ACWA waterbody actions.
